While most of us know what Government help is available to businesses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still a lot of uncertainty about how and when this help will arrive. The business support grants are vital to eligible businesses. Therefore, in an effort to obtain a few answers we have contacted our clients local councils to identify where the process currently sits;
Amber Valley Borough Council
Claims cannot yet be made. The Council will only contact businesses if information is required and this process will begin very shortly. Payments are expected to be made mid-April.
Ashfield District Council
Ashfield have already written to all eligible businesses. If you haven’t received this letter please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Businesses will need to provide their business rates accounts details, the property’s rateable value and bank details. Payment will be made within 7 days of the required information being received
Bassetlaw District Council
Payments are now being made to businesses.
The council asks all businesses to contact them via an online information form which can be found here
Broxtowe Borough Council
The Council started taking applications on 26 March 2020. Applications can be made online here. To complete the form you will need your business rates accounts details, the property’s rateable value and your bank details.
It is expected that payments will be made from 10th April 2020.
Erewash Borough Council
Businesses are unable to do anything at present. The council have announced that all business ratepayers who have a direct debit set up will be paid the grants automatically very shortly (but this isn’t defined!). Other businesses will be contacted by letter, text or post with a form soon to be available on the council’s website to complete a declaration and provide bank details.
Gedling Borough Council
Claims cannot yet be made but Gedling B.C. have confirmed to us that they will be releasing details imminently about their claims process. They tell us that all businesses will be contacted within the next few days.
Mansfield District Council
The council is asking eligible businesses to apply online. Payments will be made within 14 days of the application being submitted.

North Kesteven District Council
The Council have started the process of contacting eligible businesses, but applications are encouraged online here in the meantime. Note one application is required per property.
Funds should be paid out soon, starting w/c 13 April 2020.
Nottingham City Council
The biggest authority locally has, we believe, already received funding from central Government but have released absolutely no details about applying and we do not believe they have contact any rate payers. We hope for a rapid improvement.
Rushcliffe Borough Council
Grants are already being distributed to businesses. The council has attempted to contact all eligible businesses. If the council has already contacted you;

South Kesteven District Council
